My Topic

I decided to have my topic be about when I started swimming and how that changed my life.  I started swimming when I was only eight years old.  The reason that I started swimming was because I had finished all of my swimming leasons.  They told me that I could not come back until I turned 15.  My instructor told me to join a swimming club.  That was when I realized that swimming was really important to me.  I joined STORM swim club and I have been part of that club ever since I was eight.  When I urned twelve I tryed out for the highest level my club offered, seniors.  There had never been a twelve year old in that group, so five of my friends and myself tryed out.  We all ended up making it and that was the day that I realized swimming was not only an activity that I did but my passion.  I have made so many of my friends through swimming.  I consider my swimming team my second family.  You know that there are always other people outside your family to talk to about problems and successes.  My coaches are my second parents, I know that I can count on them to be there for me whenever I need them.  They are always there to give me support and advice.  I do not konw what I would do without them.  I always tell my caoches everything and they are always proud of me and my efforts.  Swimming has not been an easy sport to stick with.  The practices are hard and require you to be positive no matter how much you do not want to be there.  I can not even explain how many times I feel like I am going to passout or just collapse from practice.  We work so hard and in the end it pays off.  the sport has changed my prospective of life in an amazing way.  I do not quite know what I would do without it.  I have been swimming for ten years and I still love the sport with all of my heart.  It is amazing to know that you work so hard all season long and then at your final meet you cut time and place in the top eight and know that you accomplished what you once thought would be impossible.  All of the pain and sleepless nights are worth every second.  My life is swimming and I am really excited to enjoy the sport throughout college.  I can not wait to met more people on my team and have a third family outside my state that supports my every decision.
